Christmas Morning Biscuits

Well, you can do these anytime, of course, but my dad and I did them Christmas morning in Augusta this year.  VERY simple.  These were the store-bought "homemade" variety that you take out of the freezer and put straight in the oven.  You can also use those pop-can type, or, if you're a real baker (which I am not), you can make your own biscuit mix.

Either way you get them, cook them on the Egg much like you would do a pizza, except at a lower temperature.  In fact, we just followed the oven directions on the package of these biscuits which recommended 400 degrees - so, that's what we used.

Take your platesetter and cover it with aluminum foil, preheat it for about 10 minutes or so, put the biscuits on, and cook until golden brown (these took about 30 minutes if I remember correctly).  And remember, if you do a second batch, you may need to wipe down your pizza stone with a damp cloth to cool it a bit so you dno't burn the bottom of the biscuits on the subsequent batch.

I LOVE how these turn out - it will remind you of a campfire breakfast.
